Feature Request
Reported by WTG User | January 26th, 2010 @ 10:23 AM
Hi Guys,
Can't wait to try this out! The only thing is that we would love
to see video support. Our students are always creating great movie
content that we would love to incorporate.
Any chance of this capability?
Thanks

I've experimented with video support and it is possible to play videos via Concerto, the problem is resizing. Our current system doesn't have flash player support, so any videos played would have to use the element introduced in HTML 5. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to automatically resize the video being played to fill the whole field it is designated to play in.
You could install flash player on the client PCs and use that play the videos, but at the moment we aren't comfortable distributing a flash player on our live cds.
I wrote a bit more about video support here: http://groups.google.com/group/concerto-digital-signage/browse_thre...
I think we'll have support for video content in a future release (probably sometime during Concerto 2.x), but I can't commit to that at the moment.
