user cant login

Hello, I have 'inherited' our digital signage project from Todd who has left. He set up users, and one doesn't know her password so I went to change it - I clicked the 'users' tab, scrolled down to the user and clicked her name, then clicked the 'Edit Profile' button at the top, typed a new password and re-entered it, and clicked 'Save Changes' - it tells me 'User profile udpdated successfully, but when I then try to log in as this user, it says "Unable to authenticate with username/password combination". Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

    If that edit profile form doesn't work, try logging in to the database with
    a tool like phpMyAdmin and performing the change there. Passwords are
    simple MD5 hashes of the desired string, it should be pretty easy to
    generate one.

    In the future, you might get a faster response to these types of questions
    by posting them in our Google Group (
    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/concerto-digital-signage). This
    ticketing system tends to only get attention when developers are looking at
    code that needs to be written.
